Mahant Balaknath left his home and stayed with Baba Khetanath in Matsyendra Ashram and served him wholeheartedly. At that time Chandnath was the 7th Mahant of the Ashram. Balaknath’s education and knowledge of politics took place under the supervision of Khetanath.
But people say that Balak Nath did not leave his home to live in the ashram, but Balak Nath used to serve the revered Baba Khetnath. Due to this, his parents handed him over to Baba Khetnath when he was 6 years old.
