Mohit Pandey was born on 22 November 2002 in Balhaura village of Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh. His father is a farmer and his mother is a housewife.
Mohit’s uncle is a priest and he inspired Mohit to follow the path of religion. At the age of 9, he joined the Veda Vidyalaya of Shri Dudheshwar Nath Temple in Ghaziabad where he studied for 10 years.
In this Veda Vidyalaya, Mohit Pandey studied Samveda, religion and rituals for 7 years. After receiving education from the Veda Vidyalaya of Ghaziabad, Mohit went to Sri Venkateswara Vedic University in Tirupati to gain knowledge.
He received his Acharya degree from Sri Venkateswara Vedic University. Currently, Mohit is pursuing MA course from Sri Venkateswara Vedic University run by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD).
Along with this, Mohit Pandey is also preparing for PhD after getting the degree of Acharya. He also received Ramanand Diksha during his 7 years of education.
To receive Ramanand initiation, any person has to accept the teachings given by Swami Ramanand. Then in a ceremony, that person is declared initiated after the puja.
Mohit Pandey became the priest of Ayodhya Ram Temple
A chief priest will be required for the Ram temple. Therefore, application forms were also issued to become the priest of the Ram temple.
In which it is mandatory for the applicant to be between 20 and 30 years of age. Also, the applicant should have taken 6 months of Ramanandaniya Diksha and studied through Gurukul education system.
A total of 3000 applications were received for the post of temple priest. Out of these, 200 applicants were selected based on their education and knowledge. After interviewing those applicants, only 50 applicants were given appointment letters as temple priests.
During the same time, Mohit Pandey applied for the post of priest of Ram Mandir and after several tough exams and interviews, he got selected. Priests are selected by the temple trust.
The responsibility of selecting the applicants was on Saint Jaykant Mishra of Vrindavan and two Mahants Satyanarayan Das and Nandini Sharan of Ayodhya. Mohit Pandey and the rest of the priests are being given 6 months of training.
During this training, they are being trained to carry out their responsibilities correctly and with integrity. After that, they will be provided with all kinds of material to fulfil their responsibilities and duties.
According to Dr Anil Sharma, a member of Shri Ram Mandir Trust, after the appointment of priests in the temple, the salary of the chief priest will be up to Rs 32,900 and the salary of the priests working under him will be around Rs 31,000.
