The story of Kandahar hijack is based on Indian Airlines flight IC-814. Indian Airlines was hijacked on 24 December 1999. Indian Airlines had left for New Delhi from Triangulan International Airport of Kathmandu. But this plane was hijacked by some masked men and the passengers were held hostage in the plane for seven days. They pushed the pilot of the plane at gunpoint. They started scaring the passengers by showing guns and knives. The news of Indian Airlines flight IC-814 being hijacked spread.

He took the plane from Amritsar to Lahore. Later, he went from Lahore to Dubai and from Dubai to Afghanistan. He kept roaming the plane he had hijacked for a few days. There were 176 passengers in the plane, some of whom he left at home. One of the passengers trapped in the plane died after his neck vein was cut.

The kidnappers’ motive was to release Islamic terrorists imprisoned in India and demand crores of rupees from them. But the government released three people to save the people. After that everyone was brought back to India.
